Who are the Knights of Columbus?

Founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, the Knights of Columbus have been dedicated to strengthening Our Catholic Church and to Supporting Local Parishes. Member Knights dedicate their time, talent and resources to ensuring that their local parishes are beacons of the New Evangelization. We are part of an international Brotherhood of Catholic Gentlemen and identify with the heritage in which we were founded, Brothers taking care of Brothers.

As members of the Knights of Columbus, St. John Bosco Council #12746 at Mary Help of Christians, a Salesian Catholic Parish, we focus our efforts on promoting and cultivating a Salesian way of life within the domestic church. We strive to be united with our local parish’s mission and vision which is primarily the youth, especially the underserved, while also promoting vocations. All of our programs and activities at home, at Church and in the community, are all a means to impact and strengthen parish life.

Proudly we serve Our Community in the following ways:

• First and Foremost, as Upstanding Catholic Gentlemen, we Worship and Praise our Lord Jesus Christ and venerate Our Blessed Holy Mother Mary as we serve Our God and Our Holy Church in any call to service that the Holy Spirit inspires within us

But we are also prominently found as:

• Ushers and Greeters at Every Weekly Mass
• Hosts and Cooks at fundraisers for many Parish events
• Leaders and Participants of Retreats, RCIA, Religious Education and Faith Formation programs.
• Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors
• Servers to the Homeless and the Poor at our Monthly Outreach
• Committee Leaders, Organizers and Participants at our annual St. Don Bosco and other Festivals celebrating Youth and Vocations
• Volunteers at many other numerous events at Mary Help of Christians

At all times the Knights of Columbus can be counted to be there for Our Church, Our Parish, Our Families and all others. We meet Every Fourth Thursday, 7:00pm at Mary Help of Christians looking for new ways to serve and are always welcoming to new members.
